The collaboration with PETROSAINS saw 300 students from SMK Taman Rinting 2, SMK Dato’ Penggawa Timur and SMK Pasir Gudang participating in a half-day workshop filled with interactive activities and science-based experiments. PETRONAS StreetSmart, which started in 2013, is a platform to share, educate and spread the awareness of being safe on the road. It mirrors the government's efforts to produce a generation of safe and responsible road users with a special focus on primary and secondary school students.Earlier this year, the PETRONAS StreetSmart programme was brought to SMK Puteri and SMK Taman Seremban Jaya 2, located in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, and most recently to SK Kerteh, SK Rantau PETRONAS and SMK Badrul Alam Shah in Kertih, Terengganu. The programme reached out to 1,500 students from 15 schools nationwide last year and included a surprise visit by MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team driver, Lewis Hamilton, to SMK Seri Tanjong in Tanjung Kling, Melaka. Besides the PETRONAS StreetSmart programme, the PETRONAS Coffee Break campaign, which is held twice yearly during the Chinese New Year and Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities, is also part of the Company’s flagship road safety programme.
